TabOrganizer

Chrome & Firefox extension

A window full of tabs, back in order.

TabOrganizer is five commands for the mess a day of browsing leaves behind. Sort the current window by title, by website or by domain; pull every other window into this one; or push a single tab out on its own. That is the whole extension.

What it does

Five commands, named the way they behave.

A→Z

Sort By Title

Orders every tab in the current window by the title of the page it has loaded.

URL

Sort By Website

Alphabetical by the address exactly as it reads. docs. and mail. start with different letters, so tabs from one site can end up nowhere near each other.

  • docs.google.com
  • github.com
  • mail.google.com
.COM

Sort By Domain

Alphabetical by the site itself, so everything from one domain arrives together — the bare domain first, then its subdomains.

  • github.com
  • google.com
  • google.com · docs
  • google.com · mail

Merge All Windows

Takes the tabs from every other window and appends them to the end of this one.

Move Tab to New Window

Pulls the current tab out into a window of its own, for when one tab needs the space.

What it asks for

One permission, and nothing kept.

1
permission — tabs, which is what reordering tabs requires and all it requests
0
data collected: nothing leaves the browser, no analytics, no accounts, no servers to talk to
